GPAT 2016 stands for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2016. It is a national level exam conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year for Pharmacy graduates admissions in Masters programmes (M.Pharm).

The exam will be conducted on 17 January, 2016.

GPAT score is also taken into account in scholarships/financial assistance. The score can be used for one year of it's announcement to take admissions in institutes in India. It is also valid for one year to get scholarships.

If a candidate registers for a Ph.D programme, it will be valid for three years.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate who wishes to appear for GPAT 2016 exam must meet the eligibility criteria set for GPAT 2016.
  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidate must be holding a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
  • Candidates who are in the final year for Bachelor in Pharmacy courses are eligible to appear for GPAT 2016.
There is no age limit to appear for GPAT.

Registration for GPAT 2016 has been started from 3 November, 2015.

Syllabus

GPAT 2016 paper will have questions from these topics/sections.
  • Pharmaceutics
  • Pharmaceutics Chemistry
  • Pharmacology
  • Pharmacognosy

Exam Pattern

GPAT 2016 is a computer based test. Following points describe the marking scheme, duration and paper pattern of GPAT 2016.
  • The exam will have multiple choice questions (MCQs)
  • The paper will have a total 125 questions.
  • Each question will be worth 4 marks.
  • Total 500 marks can be obtained by answering every question correctly.
  • With each right answer, 4 marks will be credited.
  • With each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

Exam Centres

Candidates have to give the exam at their exam centres at the day of the exam.

Admit Card

The admit card for GPAT 2016 will be available to download online from 5th January, 2016.
