Sections in the UP CPMT paper:


There are four subjects, which can be divided into two sections.

Subjects:
Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Biology.


The two sections are:

Physics and Chemistry (100 questions)

This section will test your physics knowledge with combination of numerical questions and facts etc. The Chemistry part will test your knowledge of all basic topics also including the important aspects related to the subject like reaction, reason for a particular reaction etc.

11th Class physics and chemistry are also important, do not underestimate their importance in UP CPMT 2016.

Zoology and Botany (100 questions)

This section will have questions like animal kingdom and plant kingdom, these types of questions have more weighage, but biology being a vast subject, it's syllabus is always too much for every student, and most of them can't cram the subject, they are advised to focus on the topics which are most likely to be asked by a paper setter.

Total Number of question: 200 questions, all questions will be of Objective Type.

Total Time duration: 180 minutes

Language: UP CPMT can be given in either Hindi or English, the choice for the preferred language will be on the application form.

UP CPMT 2016 - Complete Eligibility Criteria Details

Below are the eligibility criteria to appear for Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-medical test.
  • The candidate must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh (and citizen of India).
  • However if the candidate isn't a resident, he/she should fulfill the domicile criteria as laid by the state government. 
  • Candidate should be at least 17 years old on the year of application (should be born on or before 31, 1999) 
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent exam from Uttar Pradesh board or university. 
  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects. 
  • Those candidates who have not passed 10+2 from UP, but their parents belong to UP (with the domicile certificate) can also apply for UP CPMT 2016. 
  • The candidates who are going to be appearing for the qualifying exams or are waiting for the result for the same, can also apply for this pre-medical exam. 
  •  For General category students, they must have scored minimum 50% in PCB subjects. 
  • For SC / ST / OBC category students, the minimum marks are 40%. 
  • For BAMS, the candidates who have cleared Madhyama Exam of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University (Varanasi) are also eligible. 
  • For BUMS, candidates who have passed the qualifying exam with Urdu as a subject are also eligible.

Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test 2016 (UP CPMT 2016) is conducted by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayaya University (DDU), Kanpur. It is a state level undergraduate exam, it is taken for admissions in:
  1. MBBS
  2. BDS
  3. BAMS
  4. BHMS
  5. BUMS
If you want admission in Medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh, UPCPMT is the way to go.
Being a state exam, the candidates from UP are eligible to appear for the exam, but the candidate who have not studied in UP but have a State Domicile Certificate (For UP) can appear for the exam too.
State Domicile Certificate for UP is a document that states that candidate is from UP in origin and has lived in UP.

  • Students who have cleared class XII (12th) with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for UP CPMT 2016.
  • Those who hold Indian Certificate Examination (After 12 years of study) are also eligible for UP-CPMT 2016.
  • Candidate must be 17 years old and not more than 25 years old on 31 December of the application year (In this case, 31 December, 2016)
  • Candidate can only appear for UP CPMT 2016 3 times.

Syllabus

Highlights

Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre Medical Test (UPCPMT 2016) will be based on from basics to high level topics taught in Class XI(11th) and Class XII(12th).

The students are advised to give attention to both class (11th and 12th) topics equally, as it happens often that 11th is taken lightly and it makes the appearing candidate score less than expected.

The paper will have Multiple Choice questions. (From both class XI and XII)

To be precise, 60% of the questions will be from class XII and 40% from Class XI (As you can see, XI has only 40% but that's still a big part of the exam, do not take class XI topics lightly)

The exam will be on these subjects
  1. Physics
  2. Chemistry
  3. Botany
  4. Zoology
There will be 50 MCQ questions per subject. (Making the total 200 questions)

UP CPMT 2016 - Reservation Criteria Details

UP CPMT 2016 will have seats reserved for the applicants of reserved categories, and they are:

  1. Scheduled Castes
  2. Schedule Tribe
  3. Other Backward Classes
And, the percentage of reservation is:

SC21%
ST02%
OBC27%


If the reserved category candidate's merit is equal to general category, then the candidate will not be admitted to reserved category. Before filling any reserved category seats, the 50 seats will be admitted on basis of candidate's merit.

There are some other categories in UP CPMT as well for which some percentage of seats are reserved:

    Dependents of Freedom Fighters: 2%
    Wards of Ex – Servicemen (Retired, Killed or disabled in action): 2%
    Physically Handicapped: 3%
    UP CPMT 2016 Reservation of Seats for Women Candidates: 20%
    NCC Cadets of ‘B’ Grade having ‘C’ certificate: 1%

A candidate has to submit a certificate belonging to their category before the admission, if a candidate fails to provide the document required then he/she will be rejected.

Candidates who fall under PwD category have to submit their medical certificate with 40% minimum disability will be considered.

The eligibility criteria of the entrance examination are enlisted below.

  • The candidate should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh, as well as a citizen of India. In case of non-resident the candidate should fulfill the domicile criteria as laid by the government of the state.
  • The candidate’s age limit for entrance examination on or before December 31, 1998 has been born. Age shall be taken in relation to anything not sag.
  • The candidate should completed age of 17 at the end of year in which you have taken the admission. The maximum age of applicant should not more than 25 years.
  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from Uttar Pradesh Board or any other recognized Board / University with physics chemistry and biology as core subjects of study. Those students who have not passed their 12th class exam from UP but their parents belong to UP (With domicile) can also apply for this exam.
  • The candidates, who are appearing in the qualifying examination or who are waiting for result, can also apply.
  • The candidate should have scored 50% marks in these subjects for the general class candidates and relaxation of 10% is there for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • For BAMS Course, the candidates, who have passed Madhyama Examination of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi are also eligible.
  • For BUMS Course, the candidates, who have passed High School or equivalent Examination Passed with Urdu as a subject of study, are also eligible.

Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre Medical Test for year 2015 (UPCPMT 2015) is a state level medical entrance exam conducted by King George Medical University. Lucknow. This Medical entrance exam is conducted for students seeking admission in Medical and Dental Undergraduate courses such as MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and BUMS.

The UPCPMT 2015 Exam conducting authority follows guidelines given by the Medical Council of India to allot seats in government colleges under UPCPMT.

The MCI and KGMU has made certain Reservation guidelines for admission of students in Undergraduate courses. These guidelines are as follows:

UP CPMT 2015 medical exam will have some seats reserved for the candidates of reserved categories. The categories are following -
  • Scheduled Castes (SC)
  • Schedule Tribe (ST)
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC)
The percentage of reservation of these categories on the basis of the every medical college’s seats offered as per courses.
  • Scheduled Castes (SC) – 21%
  • Schedule Tribe (ST) – 02%
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) – 27%
The reserved category candidates merit is equal to any general category then they will be not admitted to reserved category. Before admission to the reserved category the 50 seats will be admitted basis on merit.
There are few other categories in the UP CPMT 2015.

Candidates have to produce the proper certificate belonging to their category before admission. If any candidate cannot submit the document then he/she will not be able to take admission.

The candidates belonging to PwD category have to submit their medical certificate and minimum 40% disability will be considered officially.
