Eligibility Criteria

Candidate's age limit

• A candidate must be 17 years old on or before 31 December, 2016. Thus candidates born on or after 2 January, 2000 are not eligible.

Candidate's Nationality

Indian / Overseas Citizen of India

• Candidate must be an Indian National.
• If a candidate is Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), he/she is also eligible for the exam, they have to submit their proof of registration under "Section 7A of Citizenship Act"

Foreign National

• Foreign national candidates can only get admission in AIIMS, New Delhi. They do not have to appear for the entrance exam in order to get admission in AIIMS, New Delhi. However, they must have passed the Intermediate of Science or any equivalent exam with 50% in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Qualifying Exam / Required Education

• Candidate must have passed class XI (10+2) / Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or its equivalent exam from any recognized University or board from India.
• English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are required subject in the qualifying exam.
• Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam in 2016 are also eligible to appear for AIIMS MBBS, they have to provide proof of passing the exam with meeting all other criteria elements.
• The minimum marks required for a candidate to be eligible for AIIMS MBBS is 60% for general category and 50% for SC / ST / OPH category.

Timings & Exam Date

• The exam will be conducted on 1 June, 2016.
• It will be conducted in two sessions/shifts/times. The shifts will be allocated randomly.

Morning: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Afternoon: 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM

• The duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Exam Mode

• Online (Computer based test)

Language / Medium

• The online question paper will be available in both Hindi and English language. However the candidate has to choose one of the languages while filling the application form. The candidate will be presented with the question paper in his/her chosen language.

Question Paper

• There will be MCQ type questions and reason-assertion questions in the paper. (candidate has to choose answer from four options)
• Total number of the questions will be 200.
• There will be 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology), and 20 questions of General Knowledge.

Marking Pattern

• The exam is of total 200 marks.
• 1 mark will be credited for each correct answer.
• 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Syllabus

• The exam will be based on 10+2 topics.

The merit will be based on scores of candidates from both shifts.
