Mumbai | The Maharastra Government's decision of taking only one CET has brought relief to many students who are planning to appear for the exam in 2016. The state government made the announcement on Saturday. And because of that The Maharastra Government is likely to pull out of the JEE exam.

The Minister for higher and technical education, Vinod Tawde said a few things while issuing the government resolution for MHT-CET. Giving the main reason behind the decision of conducting MHT-CET from now on, he explained that because some private coaching institutes charge over Rs. 250,000/- for coaching of JEE, that is based on CBSE syllabus. This is why if the state conducted its own CET, then the students will only have to study the state syllabus and it will help the students who can't afford the coaching classes also those who come from rural areas.

What is there for me to know?
  1. The exam will follow the pattern it followed before 2013.
  2. Physics and Chemistry will be common subjects for students of Engineering and Medical.
  3. Mathematics' score will be considered for Engineering students, while Biology's score will be considered for admissions to health science courses.
  4. For pharmacy, physics, chemistry and Biology/ Maths will be considered for the exam.
  5. The exam will continue to follow the 'XIIth class only' syllabus.
  6.  Stay tuned for more updates.

  2. IF ONE LOOKS AT THE SAID RESOLUTION CAREFULLY, THEN IT SEEMS THAT A STUDENT SHOULD OBTAIN 50% MARKS AT H.S.C.. THAT'S IT. NO MORE WEIGHTAGE TO 12 MARKS!
