JEE Main 2017
JEE Main stands for Joint Entrance Exam (Main), it is conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).It is a National Level exam, clearing which you can be eligible for JEE Advanced / IIT-JEE, or admission for Bachelor's Engineering in Indian colleges.
JEE Main is held for Undergraduate Engineering admissions in various institutes, including NITs and some other private and government funded colleges.
Joint Entrance Exam has two stages:
- JEE Main 2017
- JEE Advanced 2017: for courses in IITs.
What's new in JEE Main 2017?
Till now, JEE Main's rank (All India Rank) were calculated with class XII marks, as 6:4 ratio (60% JEE, 40% XII). Now the score for JEE Main 2017 AIR will be calculated without XII marks (100% JEE Score).
Second change is for aspirants looking to appear in JEE Advanced 2017, previously top 1.5 lakh candidates (in JEE AIR) were considered eligible to appear in JEE Advanced, however now 2 lakh candidates will be eligible.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualifications: A candidate that wants to appear in JEE Main 2017 Examination must have passed class XII (or equivalent),
A candidate who is appearing for the qualifying exams mentioned above can also appear for the JEE Main 2017 exam.
Reservation Factors in applying Age: A General or OBC candidate's Date of Birth (DOB) needs to be on or after 1st of October, 1992. However if a candidate is in reserved category, it has been extended for 5 years, i.e. 1st of October, 1987.
Subjects in the qualifying exams: A candidate must have passed (or appearing in) the qualifying exam with at least five subjects.
Some clarification: If a candidate has passed the qualifying exam in or before the year 2014, they are not eligible for appearing in JEE Main 2017.
Maximum attempts: You can attempt JEE Main a total of three time.
