BITS which stands for Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani conducts an admission test for admissions in the engineering degree courses at their campuses located in Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa. The exam is commonly known as BITSAT 2016 and it is the key to admission in BITS.
Every year around 2 lakh students give this exam, for around 2 thousand seats, that makes the ratio of 100 students per seat.

Eligibility Criteria
It is required that the candidate matches following eligibility criteria to apply for the exam,Highlights
- has passed 10+2 from a recognized board in India or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
- has scored a total of 75% or more in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology in XIIth while scoring minimum 60% marks in each subjects separately.
- has passed the board (10+2) in 2015 (2014 or earlier are not eligible for exam.)
- *Those who are appearing the XII board or equivalent in year 2016 are also eligible for BITSAT 2016.
Paper Pattern
HighlightsThe paper pattern for BITS 2016 has not been announced by the official BITS authorities yet, however, here is a quick table constructed with the BITS 2015 paper pattern that would help you get a fair idea.

Last year (BITS 2015), 3 marks were credited for each right answer and 1 mark was deducted for each wrong answer.

BITSAT 2016 Application forms will be available from December (3rd week tentatively), and the deadline will be usually after a month of the availability of forms.The aspirants will have to fill the form online and pay the fees, then take printout of the form for future reference.
Note: You can only apply once for BITSAT 2016
What if I made a mistake filling the application form?
There is nothing to worry about in that case, if you made a mistake, you can simply fill the form again (you have to pay the fees again), and send a letter to the admission offices of BITS that reads the previous application number, it will be cancelled.Contact Details

Hello Kumar, yes you are eligible. But the year of passing the qualifying exam isn't mentioned in your comment. If you passed in 2015 or are going to appear in 2016, you are eligible.

Tell me one thing,it was written that according to class 12th marks we should apply in the 3rd week of may.And I am a class 12th student, so when i have to apply. Can i fill the BITSAT application form or not? What is the criteria to take admission in the BITS?

ReplyDeletei am harshit yadav ,yesterday[10/1/2016] i filled application form of bitsat 2016 and submitted the form fee through my debit card......also i got a message on my cell phone that the amount ,that is, application fee is deducted from my account and deposited in Birla Institute Of Tec.Mumbai....but my application status says that i haven't submitted the form fee......i am trying to call the institute's office but no one is answering....please help me....my application no is 122016.
