If you haven't appeared for JEE then there is no way for you to take admissions in NITs. And you can't appear for JEE Main 2016 now, because you have passed the 12th in 2012.

    1. I understand your concerns, but it is better yet to follow the instructions in brochure, if there's anything to worry, then there's the correction time to sort it out. Yet, wait for the email reply. We will try and call them, if there's anything, we will inform you.
Anyway, you still have about 20 days to fill the form. Wait for some days, we will get back to you, but if you cannot wait for some reason, then it is best that you follow what's written in brochure.

    2. I checked out previous year(2015) FAQ page of Jee main on the official website and there it was written that if you passed 12th in 2013 and appeared for improvement in 2014 and again want to appear in 2015 then you should select year of passing/appearing 2013 or 2014 which is better and and select yes for appearing for improvement ...so I think likewise this time also we have to select 2015 as year of passing/appearing and select yes for appearing for improvement

      Delete
    4. Hey, you did the right thing, the brochure is now updated and they have changed their mistake. They have added that if you're appearing for improvement in 2016, you should select year of passing as 2015 and then yes in improvement. Just as you did.

However, selecting 2016 as passing year wouldn't do any harm as they have mentioned "Select the year of appearing class 12th as 2016 and fill the remaining form correctly"

Sorry for late reply. It has been over 5 days. We have been trying to contact the officials but couldn't get past.

      Feel free to ask anything.

It is safe to follow brochure instructions, however if you're not sure, and can wait, then we can try and contact the officials and clear things out.

Now it has been updated, you can either put 2015 and then select yes in appearing for improvement or you can select 2016 as year of passing the qualifying exam.

Both will be good to go. So no need to change anything.

    1. Gaurav, you have to appear in all 5 subjects in improvement exam in order to get marks considered. Your improvement marks will not be considered if you have not appeared in all 5 subjects.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You have 2 options, either select year of passing as 2015, and then select yes in column for Appearing for Improvement.
or you can select 2016 as year of passing the qualifying exam and fill the remaining details.

      Both will work the same.
After your improvement exam's result has been declared, you will be asked to input roll number of class 12, there you can input roll number of class 12 in which your result is better.

    1. Harini, if the eligibility criteria stays the same (that is most likely), then yes you will be. But for any reason the exam gets cancelled, or the eligibility criteria changes, you won't be able to appear for jee main 2017.

You are eligible right now for jee main 2016 too, maybe you will want to appear this year.
