About MH CET:

MH CET 2015 - Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test 2015 is a state level medical entrance exam. The entrance examination for the selection to Health Science degree Courses in the State of Maharashtra for the academic year 2015-2016 shall be conducted by the Competent Authority appointed by The Government of Maharashtra.
MH CET 2016 is now MHT CET 2016, Single exam for Medical, Engg and Pharamacy!

This Exam is conducted for Seats in Health Science Courses are at all Government Medical College, Government aided Health Science institutions and Private Medical Health Science Colleges/ Institutions who opt for admission through MH CET 2015.

MH CET Medical Entrance Exam is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science(MUHS), Nashik, which offers courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPTh, BOTh, BP&O, BASLP and BSc Nursing.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be an Indian National.
Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/
Non Resident Indian (NRI)/
Overseas citizen of India (OCI) are not eligible.
  • The candidate must be born on or before 31st December 1998 to be eligible to appear for MH CET-2015. (Minimum 17 years in age.)
  • However, for admission to Ayurved and Unani courses, candidate must be born on or before 1st October 1997. 
  • The candidate must have passed the SSC or equivalent examination from an Institution situated inthe state of Maharashtra. 
  • The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination i.e. Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC/12th Standard) or equivalent examination, from an Institution situated in the State of Maharashtra with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

Exam Pattern

Due to Cancellation of Negative Marks in MH CET directed Government of Maharashtra. The Pattern has changed for MH CET.

  • Now paper will be of 200 Marks.
  • The MH CET 2015 Exam will have no negative marking scheme.
  • Each Correct Response will get 1 marks.
  • Each Wrong / Incorrect / Junk Response will not lose any marks.

Exam Syllabus


  • Paper will be objective type, Mutiple choice questions.
  • The topics from only Class XII will be asked as questions.
  •  So students are advised to read class 12th books very carefully.
  • Since it is a State - Level Exam, Question are more likely to be based on Government Textbooks Provided by Maharashtra Education Government.

  • Students can check DMER | Directorate of Medical Education and Research Maharashtra Website for latest updates regarding MH CET 2015
  • The information to be provided includes personal details and uploading of your recent colour passport size photograph and signature.
  • Payment will be done by E-Challan of State Bank Of India.
  • Fee: Rs 800.00 + Rs 60.00 Bank Commission for Open Candidates 
  • Fee: Rs 600.00 + Rs 60.00 Bank Commission for Reservation Category Candidates. 
  • This amount is not refundable

    1. Hello,

      The exam will demand a domicile certificate, and you have done SSC in ICSE so it is not possible. You are not eligible to appear for MH CET exam.

  4. Are you sure it is based on HSC syllabus ?!
    Well,the official notice says it will be exactly as NEET.

    I am studying both,just to be on the safer side?! :)

    1. While the syllabus stays as NEET (which was an exam before), we suggest you to prepare the topics from both XI and XII books. We haven't said that it is completely based on HSC, the topics asked in exams are from class XI and XII.

  8. According to DMER.. syllabus is same as NEET .. i.e CBSE ( Ncert books) !!! Is there is much difference btw maharashtra board and cbse board syllabus ?? ( worried for biology).. plzz reply !!!

    1. Cutoffs cant be determined due to change in pattern. 50% are mandatory for a general student in PCB.

    1. If you haven't paid the application fee, re-apply filling the correct details. If not, you can't do anything, MH CET doesn't allows correction.

    1. The only deciding factor is the marks which are obtained in MH CET. In cases where marks and ranks clash Class XII marks are used for comparison. That too in order: B -> C -> P.
