MH CET 2015 - No Negative Markings In The Exam!
MH CET 2015 is Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test, which is held by the Government of Maharashtra as a prerequisite for medical / health science courses in private and government medical colleges across Mumbai and Maharashtra.
Only 5.06% of the 1.48 lakh students who appeared for the medical common entrance test for 2014 qualified for MBBS and BDS courses, marking the lowest success rate in MH-CET in the last five years.

This may be the reason the Negative Marking System for MH CET is being stopped.
As per news by a popular news paper:
Vinod Tawde, the education minister, informed the state legislative assembly in Nagpur on Thursday (18th December) that they had decided to remove the negative marking system from the medical examination.
The state has also decided to appeal in the supreme court, asking to "withdraw" Maharashtra from the national medical exams.
"Due to participation in the national test, we are losing 300 medical
seats. We have to keep 300 seats for students of other states because we
are a part of the national medical test. On the other hand, from our
state, hardly 25-30 students are going out of our state to take the
medical admission. Once we withdrew ourselves, then we will get back 300
more seats for our students," said Tawde.
Now students are expected to score more better marks and perform well in MH CET Medical Entrance Exam. This change can prove unfair for some students but still students studying hard wont bother these changes and prepare accordingly!

Hello, Exam Adda,
ReplyDeleteI'm really getting confused about this decision. Is this decision applicable to MH-CET 2015 ? Will MH-CET 2015 contain negative marking or not ??? Please answer so that I could adapt accordingly......................... ♦ Thank you
As of now, there are no updates from the authorities regarding the old pattern,
DeleteThe News is fetched from a popular news paper "DNA".
The students currently are preparing for MH CET 2015 by taking "No Negative Marks" Under consideration.
You should prepare by taking other students in mind. Also take strategical guidance from teachers.
Overall, go with "No Negative Markings Scheme", Still if any changes occur, we will update it.

DeleteNow it is not hidden that we don't have negative marking in MH-CET 2015.
ReplyDeleteBut as there are no negative marking students are obviously going to attempt all the questions. Due to this practice there will be a definite increase in students result. Hence their will be an increase in cut-off marks for every category. What I want to ask is by what quantity the cut offs can increase for each category. I think, roughly there will be an increase of almost 100 marks in pre-existing cut off of MH-CET 2014 due to removal of negative marking. What's your opinion about the change in cut-off due to this new decision Exam Adda.
Yes, it is obvious that this change in exam pattern would dramatically bring a hike in cut-off marks, but the actual point is "CUT-OFF MARKS NEVER MATTER".
DeleteThe only thing matters is the "RANK". A student is preparing well for MH CET he'll reach the projected score even if the negative marks are involved.
The fact that the paper has no negative marks will bring lots of "LUCK FACTORS" but still, "LUCK FACTORS" are small in front of "HARD WORK".
All i want to convey is don't get mad, study well, in entrance exams only the hard-work works not the luck factor. So, minor changes in pattern should not affect your studies and career.
Thanks
Can the non resident student of Maharashtra apply for this test?
ReplyDeleteNo, students are required to present "Domicile Certificate issued by Maharashtra State".
DeleteIt is not allowed for "Non-State Students" to appear.
If you are from Maharashtra and currently reside at other place and can present the Domicile certificate then you can surely apply.
What is a safe score in order to get through to a medical college? Tell me a score for dental college as well, do private colleges like Sinhagad medical or MIMER have a score less than government colleges? If yes then less than how much? Please give me a rough idea of marks so that I could be able to judge myself!! Also how much should we score in HSC boards to be eligible for CET?
ReplyDeleteSince the whole Paper pattern has changed, it is quite tough to predict cutoff scores.
DeleteIf you are interested in Private Medical Colleges, please read about Associate CET.
For a rough idea, consider scores around 400 as a goal.
You have to score atleast 50% in PCB as aggregate in HSC Exams.
