How to fill JEE Main 2015 Application form
This post contains details about

Thumb Impression Specifications:
To apply for JEE Main 2015, candidates need to register first. They need to follow following three simple steps to apply online-
Step 1: Fill the application form.
Step 3: Pay examination fees
A. Applying for- JEE Main paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech only), JEE Main paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning only) or JEE Main paper 1 & Paper 2 both

Important point to notice: Candidates should carefully check the details before payment. Once payment is done, changes cannot be made.

Salient Features of JEE Main 2015 Application Form:
- JEE Main 2015 application form is not available in offline mode. It can only be filled online.
- Candidates will have to upload some images. (Thumb impression/Signature and his/her photograph) These images must be scanned and uploaded.
- Payment can be done via Credit/Debit card or E Challan.
- Candidate must download E Challan and then payment should be done in cash at Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank or ICICI Bank or HDFC Bank.
Check this before you file JEE Main 2015 Application form:
- You must keep your photographs, and Thumb Impression/Signature Image ready before applying.
- If you have given your Class XII exam in 2013 or 2014, then keep all your information about Class XII ready.
- Your Debit or Credit card should be ready, if you are going to pay with it, you will not have to enter the amount to be paid, the system will automatically calculate the amount to be paid along with the additional charges that applies.
- Students, who pay by e-challan, will have to download the e-challan, make the payment and then enter the details to complete the submission of the application form of JEE Main 2015.
- Keep the Unique Identification Number (UID)/ Aadhaar Number ready if available. This is Optional.
- As mentioned before, you will only be able to edit your information before payment so please fill accurate information in it.
- When the confirmation page appears, take a printout of it, and save it for yourself. This may help you for future reference.
Specifications for the Photograph:
- The Photograph can be in Black and White(The person should be easily identified from the photo) or colour but it must be taken in a professional studio.
- As mentioned before, professional studio's photograph is good but if you cannot do that, the photograph MUST NOT be taken with a Mobile Phone.
- The background of the photograph should be light. (White or any lighter colour)
- Name of the Candidate and the date should be specified under the photograph.
- Make sure that face gets a clear view, it is not covered by Hair or any cloth piece or a shadow.
- Photos of candidates wearing a cap will not be accepted.
- If candidate wears Glasses, there should be no Glare in his/her photograph. Glare can be avoided with a slight downward tilt of the glasses or by removing the glasses for the photo shoot.
- Only clear glasses are permitted. Photos with goggles, coloured glasses and sun glasses are not acceptable.
- The scanned image of photograph must be in JPEG format only.

Signature Specifications:
- First draw a rectangular box of 7 x 2 centimeter on a white paper, then have your signature in that box with a black (recommended) or a blue ink (with dark shade) pen.
- Scan the signature using scanner
- Save the image in JPEG format. Only JPEG image formats will be accepted. (IMPORTANT)

Thumb Impression Specifications:
- Firs of all draw a rectangular box of size 7 × 2 cm on a white paper
- Take an ink pad of blue or black colour only.
- Place your Thumb (left for boys & right for girls) in it and press to get the ink onto your thumb.
- Now put the impression of the thumb (left for boys & right for girls) in the box drawn for the impression.
- Scan the impression using a scanner.
- Save the image in JPEG format. Only JPEG image formats will be accepted. (IMPORTANT)

Filling the JEE Main 2015 Online Application Form:
Note: Candidates can apply for the JEE Main 2015 at the end of this page after going through the step by step guidelines.
Very Important: Candidates must check details carefully before payment. Once payment of the JEE 2015 Fees is done, changes cannot be made.
Registration:
To apply for JEE Main 2015, candidates need to register first. They need to follow following three simple steps to apply online-
Step 1: Fill the application form.
Step 2: Upload scanned images
Step 3: Pay examination fees
You need to click on “Apply for JEE (Main) 2015. You will be redirected to the below declaration page where you can also read the instructions and procedures for online submission of JEE Main 2015 application form-
At the end of this page, click on “I have download Information Bulletin and read all the instructions” and proceed to apply online.
Step 1- Filling JEE Main 2015 Application Form:
You will be redirected to this page where you need to fill the exam related details, personal details, academic details, mailing address details, guardian details, password and security pin.
1. Exam Related Details-
In this, candidates need to choose the exam, mode of application and question paper medium.
A. Applying for- JEE Main paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech only), JEE Main paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning only) or JEE Main paper 1 & Paper 2 both
B. Mode of examination: Paper & Pencil based/Computer based

2. Personal Details-
In this step, candidates need to give their personal information correctly.
Important:
- State of Eligibility- It means the code of the state from where you have passed Class 12th / equivalent qualifying examination.
- Nationality: Foreign/OCI/PIO candidates are not eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFIs through JEE Main Channel.
3. Academic Details-
In this step, candidates shall enter their academic details that include information about class 10th and 12thand mode or preparation.
Important:
- Candidates must have passed their Class XII examination or other qualifying examination in the year 2013 or 2014.
- Candidates, who are appearing for their Class XII examination in 2015, are eligible.
- Candidates, who have passed class 12th or qualifying examination in 2012 or earlier, are not eligible to apply.
- Candidates, who will be appearing for class 12th or qualifying examination in 2016 or later, are also not eligible to apply for JEE Main 2015.
4. Mailing Address Details-
Candidates must enter their mailing address details correctly as further communication will be done using the entered address and phone number only.
5. Guardian Details-
In this step, candidates are required to fill the qualification, occupation and annual income of their father/guardian and mother.
6. Choose Password-
Important:
Password Criteria is as follows-
- The Password must be 8 to 13 characters long.
- It must have at least one Upper case alphabet.
- It must have at least one Lower case alphabet.
- It must have at least one numeric value.
- It must have at least one special characters eg.!@#$%^&*-
7. Security Pin-
This is the last step in JEE Main 2015 Application Form. Candidates need to enter the displayed security pin (case sensitive).
After completing all these steps, click on “Next” to proceed further. But before that, make sure that you have entered all the details correctly.
After submitting the form, the details entered by you will appear like this-
You will be asked to change any information or for final submission. If you want to make any change, then press “EDIT CREDENTIALS” button, otherwise press “FINAL SUBMIT” button.
Step 2- Uploading Scanned Images
On final submission of application form, you will be redirected towards the next step, which is uploading of scanned images- photograph, signature and thumb impression (specifications of dimensions stated above). Your JEE Main 2015 Application Number will be written on it.
After clicking on “Upload Scanned Images, following page will be opened.
Choose file to upload the scanned images of your photograph, signature and thumb impression.
Step 3- Fee Payment
Candidates have to pay the fees as follows:

Payment Mode of JEE Main 2015 Application Fees:
1. Credit (additional charges: 1.20% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable)
2. Debit Card (additional charges: 0.75% of the examination fee plus taxes for examination fee up to Rs. 2000 and 1% + taxes for examination fee more than Rs. 2000. )
3. Through the e-Challan generated after successful submission of the online application form.
